The Northwest Arkansas Economic Development District (NWAEDD), a public planning and development organization serving nine counties, needed a website that could keep up with its expanding programs, regional partnerships, and public-service mission.
Though NWAEDD has been serving communities since 1967, its previous website lacked the clarity, accessibility, and content structure necessary for today’s users, from local officials and business leaders to grant seekers and community members. The site was difficult to navigate, wasn’t optimized for mobile, and failed to reflect the scale and sophistication of the organization’s work across Northwest Arkansas.
Interra was brought in to reimagine the NWAEDD digital experience from the ground up. Our mission: to create a modern, informative platform that simplifies access to resources, improves transparency, and reflects the organization’s decades-long legacy of impact.
The new website had to support everything from news and announcements to grant applications, county-specific initiatives, and legislative updates, all while remaining approachable to users across the public and private sectors.

Key outcomes of the redesign included improved mobile usability, better organization of services and resources, and increased visibility for grant programs, community initiatives, and county-specific updates.
Built on a clean, responsive WordPress platform, the site empowers NWAEDD staff to easily manage news, post grant opportunities, and maintain up-to-date content for stakeholders across government, business, and nonprofit sectors.
This project showcased Interra’s ability to support mission-driven organizations with complex structures and high public visibility. Today, NWAEDD’s online presence serves as an effective digital extension of its decades-long commitment to building stronger communities across Northwest Arkansas.
